About our brewery

The Vratislavice brewery was founded in the year of 1872. In the 1980’s the brewery’s annual output exceeded 100 thousand hectolitres and it became one of the largest breweries in Bohemia.
During that period Emperor Franz Joseph I also visited the brewery and showed his appreciation of the local brewers by awarding them medals for quality. High quality and excellent taste remain synonymous with the reputation of our brand to this day. The Vratislavice Brewery in Liberec adheres to the proven technology of beer production traditional in the Czech lands.
The beer is produced exclusively from Czech ingredients and the malt comes from its own malting plant. The local sources of water, due to the favourable conditions in the Jizera Mountains, are very good for the quality of the beer. The beer contains no chemical additives, preservatives or colourants. We use traditional brewhouse procedures with decoction mashing and an atmospheric draw off, the main fermentation taking place in open vats, and long lying for rounding the flavour followed by the mildest possible filtration of the yeast.
The beer is bottled into 0.5 L and 0.33 L (or 0.25 L) bottles, 2 L maxi bottles, 5 L mini kegs, 20 L Petainers, 20 L, 30 L and 50 L kegs with flat caps and in addition into tanks.
